BIO OF Md. Shoeb
Mr. Md. Shoeb Chowdhury serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer at the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) of BRAC University. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the Royal University Dhaka and possesses a Computer Network Administration (MCSE, CISCO) LEA.AW from Herzing College, Montreal, Canada. Mr Chowdhury has undergone advanced climate change adaptation and mitigation training under CCDB and Jahangirnagar University. His extensive experience includes over six years as a Research Associate, two years as a MEL Officer, and three years as a Programme Manager.
His expertise lies in developing project scopes, maintaining project momentum, ensuring timely deliverables, and creating a seamless experience for all stakeholders. Mr. Chowdhury’s well-rounded skill set includes strong relationship-building and time-management capabilities. He is passionate about building CSO networks, nurturing youth volunteers, and working with vulnerable communities. His capacity-building initiatives include organizing and facilitating training workshops for CSOs and youth volunteers in various regions.
Mr. Chowdhury’s areas of interest include capacity building, climate change impacts, local-level adaptation techniques, the relationship between climate change and gender, and migration issues. He has also dealt with climate-induced migration in a previous FCDO-funded Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism project. As part of his extensive portfolio, he led the field team for CSRL-BRITISH Council’s PROKAS issue-based project, “Climate Finance Transparency Mechanism” (CFTM). Additionally, he contributed to various assessments addressing agriculture, water scarcity, gender adaptation, and river pollution concerns in the southwestern region of Bangladesh. Notably, Mr. Chowdhury co-authored an international conference abstract presented at the American Geophysical Union Spring Meeting in 2009.
