BIO OF Ms Saraf Mashiat Nabi

Ms Saraf Mashiat Nabi has been working as an Environmental Economist in the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) of BRAC University where she is involved in various qualitative and quantitative research notably in data analysis, literature reviews and policy analysis. She obtained her Master and Bachelor’s degrees in the discipline of Environmental and Resource Economics from Dhaka School of Economics, University of Dhaka. She has special skills in field management, economic data analysis, budget and cost-benefit analysis as well as environmental valuation and impact assessment. Along with this, she has an enriched understanding of Environmental Policy Analysis, Agricultural and Energy Economics, and the Economics of Climate Change. Additionally, she has been involved in various research projects especially focused on climate change and lives of the vulnerable groups from the very beginning of her career. Her research interest lies in the domain of the lives of vulnerable communities of society, climate change, natural and energy resources etc. Moreover, she has been certified in different courses, for instance, MS Office management, Data Analysis with SPSS, Stata for Statistics and Data Analysis, Introduction to Python Programming etc. In line with this, she has worked and currently cooperating in various running projects of C3ER such as “Ethnic Communities in Bangladesh: Their Struggle Against Adverse Impact of Climate Change”, “To   Reduce Road Traffic   Accidents in Relation to Achieve SDG: Challenges and Strategies” and many more. She has also participated in various workshops and trainings related to climate change, disaster management and proposal development. Her academic and hands-on work experience has therefore enabled her to work on economic analysis, climate change, environmental as well as development concerns.
