
Biography of Sadia Jahan Rothi
Sadia Jahan Rothi is a Research Assistant at the Centre for Climate Change and Environment Research (C3ER), BRAC University. She completed her M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). She is involved in various projects, policy reviews and the formulation of the Bangladesh Health National Adaptation Plan (HNAP). Her research interest includes National and International Climate Policy Review; Green Energy; Nature-based Solution (NbS); Climate Change and Public Health Nexus; Climate Change and WASH Nexus.
Her working arena transcends the national border. She works voluntarily as a Policy Assistant in the Health Working Group of Children and Youth constituency of the UNFCCC. She is one of the Youth Advisors to the CEO of the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA).
She has attended several international UN Conferences. She has been a delegate of the Conference of Parties (COP28), the 79th Session of the UN ESCAP, the UN Water Conference 2023 & COP27.
She is involved in extracurricular activities and possesses remarkable leadership skills. She won several national and international competitions related to climate change. She received the Inspiring Women Volunteer Award-2022 for her outstanding contribution to society, awarded by UN Women, UN Volunteer, PLAN International Action Aid Bangladesh and VSO. She also received the Senate Award from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
