
BIO OF Ms. Nazmun Nahar
Nazmun Nahar is a dynamic and accomplished governance and policy specialist, with a strong focus on climate change, gender-responsive development, and sustainable enterprise. She holds a Master’s and bachelor’s degree in Government & Politics from Jahangirnagar University, where she demonstrated academic excellence, earning multiple scholarships and awards for her debate and public speaking skills.
Currently working as a Research Associate and Governance & Policy Specialist at the Centre for Climate Change & Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, Nazmun has played a critical role in several high-impact research projects. Her work spans various domains, including ecological assessments for nature-based solutions, diaspora engagement in climate action, and gender-responsive climate initiatives. She facilitated numerous training sessions on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and led workshops on leadership, policy engagement, and climate change, empowering youth and women to take on leadership roles in their communities.
Nazmun’s academic background and extensive professional experiences have made her a valuable contributor to policy research and development, project management, and fieldwork. She has conducted focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and in-depth interviews for various research initiatives, and her project management skills include coordinating donor communication, field planning, and report writing.
As a passionate advocate for sustainable development, Nazmun has co-founded several youth and community-focused organizations, such as Talk Bangladesh, Bengal Society, and Earth Care Initiative. Her leadership in these initiatives highlights her commitment to environmental advocacy, youth empowerment, and community engagement.
With a strong foundation in governance, policy research, and environmental sustainability, Nazmun Nahar continues to make significant contributions to climate resilience and gender-responsive development, shaping a more equitable and sustainable future for Bangladesh
