BIO OF Istiak Ibne Rouf
Mr. Istiak Ibne Rouf is currently working in the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) of BRAC University since October 2017 as an Environmental Specialist. He has expertise in research and policy advocacy related to environmental sustainability and climate change – emphasizing on sustainable environmental management, climate finance, nature-based solutions, locally led adaptation and climate change adaptation and mitigation. He has worked with governmental and non-governmental organizations regarding climate change-related research, policy development, and capacity building for accessing climate finance. In addition, He has also worked on social inclusion in climate actions, and a significant part of this is focused on climate migration, youth and children. In addition, he has working experience with various NGO and development partners to develop stakeholder strategies, organized capacity-building workshops, prepared knowledge products, and developed program budgets. He was involved in the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) development process for Bangladesh, where consultations were done with youths all over the country who were actively participating in climate action.
He has completed his BSc and MSc in Environmental Management from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). He has 1 book chapter, 1 newspaper article and 5 conference proceedings as well.
