Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University is delighted to announce the successful completion of the 7-week long Certificate Course on ‘’Climate Change & Sustainable Development’’, jointly organized by C3ER, BRAC University, and Nature Conservation Management (NACOM), with support from USAID Bangladesh.

The overarching purpose of this training course was to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, enabling them to contribute effectively to climate change resilience and sustainable development across various sectors, including agriculture, fisheries, biodiversity, health, and sanitation. Held from December 1, 2024, to January 18, 2025, the program brought together 29 participants from different government and non-government organizations, i.e., Chittagong Hill Tracts Board, CARE Bangladesh, UNDP Bangladesh, Save the Children, BRAC, e. Gen Consultants, Platform of Community Action and Architecture (POCAA), GOBD Education and Immigration Consultancy Ltd, Next Sourcing Services Ltd, Chevron Bangladesh, DIPTO, NACOM, C3ER, BRAC University. The session lectures were given by renowned experts in the climate change sector.

The closing ceremony was chaired by Dr. Ainun Nishat, Advisor and Professor Emeritus, C3ER-BRAC University. As a Chief Guest, Mr. A K M Sohel, Additional Secretary, Wing Chief, United Nations, Economic Relations Division (ERD) graced the ceremony. The Special Guest was Dr. Munjurul Hannan Khan, Execute Director of Nature Conservation Management (NACOM). All the featured guests commended the program’s outcomes and stressed the importance of continued collaboration.

C3ER is proud to have created a platform where participants gained valuable insights into climate change impacts, adaptation strategies, and sustainable development approaches. The interactive sessions, expert lectures, and hands-on activities empowered attendees to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Moving forward, C3ER is committed to continuing such initiatives that build capacity and foster cross-sectoral partnerships to create a more climate-resilient and sustainable future.
