Climate Diplomacy Capacity Building Workshop, an impactful initiative of LCOY Bangladesh 2024, brought together emerging leaders, advocates, and experts over three days to strengthen climate policy knowledge and negotiation skills. As part of the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY), LCOY Bangladesh provides a platform for youth to engage in climate action and policy discussions, aligning with the UNFCCC’s vision. Supported by UNDP, this workshop featured sessions covering climate diplomacy, finance, adaptation, and mitigation.
Ms. Samin Azhan Chowdhury and Ms. Nafisa Nawrin Chowdhury, Resilient Infrastructure Specialist from the Centre of Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, participated in the workshop.
Ms. Samin shared, “The power of youth in climate advocacy is not in the loudness of their voices but in the depth of their resolve. The future is theirs to protect, and through action today, they can shape the world they wish to inherit tomorrow.”
Ms Nafisa said, “By engaging in climate diplomacy, grassroots activism, and collaborations with governments and NGOs, youth can bring fresh perspectives and build pressure for immediate action. Their involvement in policy discussions and climate negotiations is crucial in preventing irreversible damage and shaping a resilient, inclusive future for all. A future that we deserve.”
