Mr. Tanzim Khan, Disaster Management and Public Health Specialist, and Mr. Anupom Halder, Water Resources Management Specialist, from the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, attended a capacity-building training workshop, organized by International Development Enterprises (iDE) in Khulna from 23-27 September, on sustainable homestead aquaculture and fisheries, which included several key components. It featured a Training of Trainers (ToT) on Market System Development for the project implementation partners, focusing on enhancing market linkages and sustainability. It also included business planning training for Business Groups (BG), aimed at equipping implementing partners staff with the skills to develop effective business strategies. Additionally, there was a ToT on mapping business groups, selecting Business Groups (BG) members, and forming strong Group Governance (GG) structures, emphasizing the importance of organized, well-governed groups in the success of aquaculture ventures.

The training was actively participated by various partners, including representatives from government and private sectors, Center for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER), BRAC University, Cordaid, Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK), Friendship, International Development Enterprises (iDE), Handicap International (HI), Practical Action, and CARE Bangladesh.

The participation from C3ER, BRAC University highlighted the commitment to addressing sustainable development challenges in Bangladesh through multi-stakeholder collaboration and capacity-building efforts. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to foster sustainable business models and support the development of resilient aquaculture practices for rural communities in Bangladesh.
