C3ER Embarks on SDG-Focused Road Safety Project in Collaboration with Bangladesh Police (March 21)

C3ER has been awarded a new project in association with Sharp Consulting Bangladesh Limited, funded by the Bangladesh Police, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, titled “To Reduce Road Traffic Accidents to Achieve SDG: Challenges and Strategies” where C3ER is the lead firm.

The Study aims to evaluate the current situation of road accidents in Bangladesh, including identifying high-risk hotspots like the Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Rajshahi, and Dhaka-Sylhet highways in terms of traffic accidents, victim scenarios, and other stakeholders like administrative authorities like PSD, MIS, DGHS, RHD, BRTA, Bangladesh Police, local government, and local communities for capacity and need assessment. Furthermore, this research will examine Bangladesh’s difficulties in achieving SDG goal 3, suggest how to deal with those difficulties, and clear the way for goal achievement. A contract was signed between Bangladesh Police and C3ER, BRAC University, on 19 March 2023 at Police headquarters.

Dr. Ainun Nishat, Adviser of C3ER, BRAC University, and Dr. Shamsunnahar PPM, Additional DIG (Research, Innovation and Best Practice), Bangladesh Police, signed the agreement.
