MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) CENTRE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH (C3ER), BRAC UNIVERSITY AND GRANT THORNTON CONSULTING BANGLADESH LIMITED (GTCBL) FOR COOPERATION ON RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES (October 2023)

The Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) at BRAC University actively engages in climate change research and advocacy, fostering partnerships with national and international organizations. Specializing in adaptation and mitigation, C3ER addresses the adverse impacts of climate change, including health, food security, poverty, displacement, and renewable energy.

Grant Thornton Consulting Bangladesh Limited (GTCBL), a full member of Grant Thornton International, is a leading firm offering advisory services across various domains while upholding international quality standards.

Together, referred to as the “Parties,” C3ER and GTCBL have collaboratively formulated a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU is designed to fortify mutual understanding and promote cooperation, primarily focusing on facilitating exchanges and collaboration in research and development, training, and dissemination of initiatives.

Both parties are committed to adhering to the regulatory framework set by the Government of Bangladesh, and they will jointly formulate the necessary principles to actualize the outlined goals in the MoU. The cooperative agenda encompasses diverse aspects, including collaborative research on climate change, adaptation planning, infrastructure design, economics, disaster management, community-based adaptation, and environmental governance.

Specific initiatives resulting from the MoU will undergo thorough joint and periodic evaluations by authorities from both parties. Additionally, the MoU ensures equitable sharing of intellectual property rights arising from the collective efforts of employees or consultants, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
